Network issue - Default gateway become "ON-LINK"
I have a newly installed Windows 7 on last Saturday. After installing softwares, which include cutepdf (FYI, I got blue screen error and memory dump, and then reboot), and several full reboots, my connection to internal become unavailable. Currently, I have a local LAN at home connecting to a router, and this router is connected to a broadband modem. I can successfully ping the router as well as other workstation in the same network. I can lookup the address of a hostname by nslookup. However I can't ping or connect to any IP from internet. My route print show something like the following: network netmask gateway 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 ON-LINK 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 I guess I can't connect to the internet because the gateway ON-LINK come the first, all the packages are routed to the gateway ON-LINK where the correct gateway should be 192.168.0.1. Would anyone tell me how can I fix this problem? Thanks for your kind attention!

May be that route is added by some applications. You may use the following command to delete this route. route delete p 0.0.0.0 ON-LINK If the issue persists, please re-check the TCP/IP configurations. If the issue still occurs, please test if it works when you bypass the router.Arthur Xie - MSFT

The routing "0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 ON-LINK" is disappeared after I have explicitly set the speed of the LAN card from Auto mode to 100Mbps (It is a Gigibit Lan card). I wonder why this setting is related to the route table setting....

We have experienced that some programs will add this route. For example: Default gateway On-link problem!?Arthur Xie - MSFT
